FIND YOURSELF...

After moving to California from Rhode Island back in 2014, I was in search of a fresh start. I quickly found myself in the heart of Napa Valley, working in an array of different vineyards and tasting rooms—mainly in the cellar on the production side of winemaking.

With both of my brothers already well established within the industry, it was only a matter of time before I, too, joined the “family” business. Growing up, my father ran a warehousing company where we all worked—driving forklifts, storing goods, and learning the logistics of shipping and receiving. A winery is basically a warehouse for wine, so the skillset transferred over almost seamlessly. Now, I just had to learn how to make wine.

After working with some of California’s most talented winemakers over the last decade, I have learned a craft that has helped me find myself. This is my life’s purpose—connecting with people through wine, sharing life experiences with others, and, most importantly, appreciating all the hard work that goes into the making of every bottle produced.

working with the land…

In 2016 I took on the responsibility of farming a run-down half-acre of Cabernet Sauvignon vines in St Helena. Doing everything by hand with no formal education and learning through trial and error. i have spent the last 10 years studying and learning how to bring neglected backyard vineyards back to life through organic farming practices. Working with a hand full of landowners in napa and sonoma county.

Embracing and developing a natural eco-system with minimal human intervention. Working with as little as 2 to 3 vineyards each year. Giving landowners a portion of the wines produced and putting the remainder into the fieldhand project.

hand crafting wines made with honesty, purity and purpose.

fieldhand is a story of rebirth, hard-work and honest winemaking.
